Lake Burley Griffin kayak tours

Explore lake Burley Griffin in our stable single or double estuary kayaks under the supervision of REAL fun guides.

Wetlands tour. Departs 2pm Wednesday to Sunday.     $75 per person

Immerse yourself in nature as you experience the 2 -3 hour wetlands tour. Departing from Commonwealth place you paddle East towards the new Kingston foreshore development. You skirt around the new Kingston Harbour before heading into the wetland area. Peaceful, narrow and full of bird life. From the silence of your kayak is the best way to explore this part of the lake. Includes afternoon tea.

Winery tour. Departs Wed to Sunday at 10am. $130 per person including wine tasting and lunch

 

You will spend about two hours paddling leisurely across Lake Burley Griffin and up the Molonglo river. Experience the mix of the city cultural buildings in the central basin as it merges with the nature and beauty of the Molonglo river. Arriving at your destination we pull the kayaks up the bank and wander through the olive groves and grapevines at the Pialligo winery. Your friendly winery host will look after you as enjoy a tasting of the many wines on offer. You will then be served a delicious anti pasto platter as you enjoy the view, looking back across the vineyards with Canberra's iconic buildings as a backdrop in the distance. Feel free to purchase any of the wines on offer at the winery.

 

You need not worry about how you going to paddle home with a full belly and a case of wine in your boat. You will be picked up by minibus and dropped back at Commonwealth Place so buy all the wine you would like to take back with you.

 

We supply:

  • All paddling equipment
  • Life jackets (PFD's)
  • Polar fleece sweaters and Spray jackets in cooler conditions
  • Professional guides who are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic

What to Bring:

  • Swimmers, shorts, t-shirts
  • 2 pairs of shoes (one pair to wear in your kayak) wetsuit booties or volleys ideal
  • Strap to hold on sunglasses
  • Personal medication
  • Plastic Bag to store wet gear
  • Small towel
  • Waterproof sunscreen
  • Change of clothes for end of trip
  • Cameras & Photos

Our guides will be taking photos throughout the trip. We cannot guarantee to keep your camera waterproof, we suggest if you want to take your own photos that you bring a small disposable waterproof camera.
